How to use blog for generating leads?

Blogging is a medium to let the world know about your passion, business, emotions, you can express everything on it. For businesses, it acts as a medium to generate new lead and customers. We also discussed in our previous chapter, that blog can generate new visitors as it acts a medium, helps in SEO strategy and content marketing strategy and ultimately in inbound marketing strategy as well. The same is applicable for generating new leads. In this chapter of inbound marketing certification, we will be discussing how to use blog to generate new leads.

  1. Understand your Buyer Persona

You will need to write content for your buyer persona and will have to get them to visit your site. When you target them, you make sure that you are being relevant to your visitors. When, you provide them relevant information, these visitors will definitely convert into new leads.

  1. Using Buyers Journey

Buyer Journey helps targeting the stage of decision, the prospect is at. If he is just searching for information, by providing him with relevant information, and telling him there is a problem and there is a solution for it. When he realizes that more often, he will try to come back to you for solution, as you helped him identify the problem, and also told him that there is a solution to it. This way you will be getting a new lead.

  1. Using Call to Action

Call to Action is an effective inbound marketing strategy. We have discussed about this earlier as well. When we have new visitors on our site, we need to make sure we have CTA available, maybe in the form of phone calls, form, download pdf etc. This will in generating new leads.

When you use your blog along with social media, you are reaching out to your followers and with the hashtags to the world. You are not only building reputation for your business in the market you are also bringing in new visitors along with it. You can use call to actions along with it on your social media as well as blog, so that it can generate more leads

  1. Using Content Marketing Strategy

You can use blog as a medium for your content. So, you will be bringing in new visitors. Now your content should be written in such a manner that you are able to take the buyers journey to the next stage. He was there for valuable information, he got that and now you can subtly move him to the next stage so that he can act as a lead by providing him an option to subscribe, create a sign in or maybe ask him to fill the contact details. This way you will be getting a lead for sure.

  1. Using SEO strategy

Blogging helps in SEO strategy, as we know we will be placing our keywords and optimizing for it. It will help us in getting better page rank because of things like better user experience, keyword strategy and referrals that people might provide, given your content is engaging. When you rank better, you will get new visitors and using buyer persona and buyer journey you can make these prospects into new leads for your business.
