We have discussed different types of content for content marketing strategy. Depending on the purpose you need to solve, you will have to look at the format of the content accordingly. One thing that needs to be remembered is that, use multiple formats for content as it will help in engaging audience in a better way.

The top  rows define the  content and next rows define which all format can be used for posting about this content. So, for example a press release you might use articles, videos and infographics.

  1. Text

Text is the most used format. It is going to be useful in most of the cases, by itself or along with the use of various other formats. Text has to be there for helping Google to index and help you rank better.

But do remember text should be engaging, not repetitive and unique. If a statement can be said in one line then use one line instead of an entire paragraph.

 

  1. Images

Images are most useful when we you want to convey a message or show a picture just to create an impression in the mind of the user what the scene could have been like.

Let’s consider an example – an image showing picture of building which is fuming in flames and a caption along with it, this will create an image in the mind of user what the writer wants to convey. This shows how powerful can an image be, user can make up his mind just by looking at the message and the message is conveyed to him.

  1. Videos

Videos are useful at places like entertainment, education or news areas. When you want to show movies, music videos or tv series etc all that comes under entertainment. If you are giving some tutorials on a subject or course that would be covered under videos. News would cover anything happening in the world. You can make use of this format to build small clips that are really informative and meaningful.

  1. Infographics

We discussed an example of infographics in previous chapter as well. They are nothing but using graphics to convey information in a better form. They can be useful in content where, you have to convey numbers or persuade a buyer that a certain thing is better than the other.

  1. Presentations or Slides

Using a presentation, you can convey a difficult message to convey in simple terms. Since, presentation is a combination of text and image combined to slides, you are actually trying to build up the concept one step at a time.

 

There are also other formats like gifs, spreadsheets, forms, downloadable content in the form of pdf etc which have very specific application as content.
